Benefits for Using EcoWater
  • Insure your household is drinking healthy water
  • Save 35 to 40 % on annual water bills
  • Help control global consumption
  • Become more self-sufficient

Of all the water in the world, only three percent is fresh. Less than a third of one percent of this is available to humans. However, fresh water is essential to our existence; it allows us to produce food, manufacture goods and sustain our health. As global consumption reaches critical mass – UNESCO predicts that by 2020 water shortage will be a serious worldwide problem, it’s time to become water efficient. This involves reassessing our relationship with water, and learning to use it more sparingly. On the most basic level, it requires a behavioral change, and assigning a value to water that truly reflects its worth.

Grey Water Recycling

About 55% of indoor home water is used for bathing and laundry. Another 30% goes down the toilet. Grey water recycling takes used water from the shower, bath and laundry, and recycles it for use in the toilet. With this solution, home water consumption can be reduced by a third, alleviating the load on natural water sources. The recycled water, which is referred to as grey water, is strictly used for the toilet. Foreign particles and impurities are filtered, so it is like using a conventional water source. Furthermore, once integrated into a building’s plumbing, the system operates seamlessly. Grey water recycling can save from 35% to 40% on annual water bills.

Rainwater Harvesting

Rainwater harvesting is the capture, diversion, and storage of rainwater for plant irrigation and other uses. Harvesting rainwater provides free water that reduces dependence on ground water. Rainwater is collected from rooftops, concrete patios, driveways and other impervious surfaces. Intercepted water can then be retained and routed for use in evaporative coolers, toilet flushing, indoor plant watering, and for lawn and garden irrigation.
